Tolt vs Rewardful pricing and payout fees at every affiliate revenue level

Tolt and Rewardful land on the same shortlist because they solve the same problem the same way. You run a subscription product, a few people want to promote it, and you need referral tracking that reads your billing system so commissions follow upgrades, refunds and cancellations without a spreadsheet. Both publish real prices, both give affiliates a portal and a link, both offer a 14-day trial, and both bill you in revenue bands rather than per affiliate. Rewardful has been doing this since 2017 and is owned by saas.group. Tolt launched in 2022 and is aimed at early-stage startups.

On price the two trade places three times as a program grows, so the cheaper one depends on which band you will spend the next year in. After price, two practical questions usually settle it before anyone opens a feature table: which billing system you run, and whether you want the vendor to deal with US tax forms for the affiliates you pay.

Choose Rewardful if your affiliate revenue is under $7,500 a month or above $20,000, if you want annual billing with two months free, or if you value its longer track record and deeper Stripe integration. Choose Tolt if you pay US affiliates and want 1099s filed, if you bill through Chargebee, or if your program sits between $7,500 and $10,000 a month for a while. Choose Partnerships if the real bottleneck is that you do not yet know which companies should be promoting you.

The short answer

What is the difference between Tolt and Rewardful?

Both are affiliate tracking tools for SaaS companies, both publish their prices, and both set your plan by monthly affiliate revenue rather than by affiliate count. Rewardful is cheaper to start at $49 a month for up to $7,500 and cheaper again once you pass $15,000, where its Enterprise entry tier costs $149 against Tolt Pro at $199. Tolt is cheaper between $7,500 and $10,000, where it still charges $69 and Rewardful has moved you to $99, and between $15,000 and $20,000. The bigger differences are paperwork and billing. Tolt files 1099s for you from its $99 Growth plan and lists Chargebee from that plan up. Rewardful works with Stripe and Paddle only, and its own pages do not say it files 1099s.

Why teams pick Partnerships

AI prospecting and drafted outreach, with no marketplace tax

The cheaper tool changes three times as your program grows

Put both price ladders on one line and the answer flips depending on where your affiliate revenue sits. Under $7,500 a month Rewardful Starter is $49 and Tolt Basic is $69, so Rewardful wins by $20. Between $7,500 and $10,000 Rewardful has moved you to Growth at $99 while Tolt still charges $69, so Tolt wins by $30. From $10,000 to $15,000 both cost $99. From $15,000 to $20,000 Rewardful steps to its Enterprise entry tier at $149 while Tolt Growth stays at $99, so Tolt wins by $50. From $20,000 to $30,000 the order reverses again: Tolt Pro is $199 against Rewardful at $149. Above $30,000 Rewardful stops publishing a price, and above $50,000 Tolt does too. Rewardful also sells annual plans at ten months for the price of twelve, which takes Starter to about $41 a month and Growth to about $83, and Tolt shows no annual price at all. So model your affiliate revenue twelve months out and price the band you will actually live in, not the one you start in.

Read how each one counts revenue before you trust the band

A revenue band is only as useful as its definition. Rewardful's help center says the meter counts every payment from every customer an affiliate referred, renewals included, even after the commission on that customer has ended. For a SaaS product with good retention that number keeps climbing when affiliates bring in nothing new. A program that pays 30% for twelve months can find itself pushed from Starter to Growth in year two while its commission bill is falling. Tolt describes its bands as revenue earned from affiliates and does not define the term further on its pricing page. Before you sign, ask Tolt one question in writing: does a renewal from a customer whose commission period has ended still count toward my plan? If the answer is no, Tolt's higher ceilings are worth more than the table shows. If it is yes, the two meters behave the same and the comparison is purely the price ladder above.

Billing stack and 1099s usually decide it before price does

Both tools read your subscription data, which is what makes commissions follow refunds and cancellations automatically. That also means your billing system decides whether either tool works at all. Rewardful says plainly that it is built for SaaS businesses that bill through Stripe or Paddle and that it may not be for you otherwise. Tolt supports Stripe and Paddle on every plan and lists Chargebee from Growth, with a setup guide in its help center, although its own pricing FAQ still says only Stripe and Paddle can be integrated. If you bill through Chargebee, Tolt is the only one of the two worth testing, and you should confirm it during the trial. Tax is the second filter. Paying US affiliates means a W-9 from each domestic payee and a 1099-NEC for anyone paid at or above the reporting threshold, which is $2,000 for tax year 2026. Tolt files those 1099s from its $99 Growth plan. Rewardful does not advertise filing, so that work stays with your accountant every January.

Honest about where each one beats us

If you bill through Stripe and want an affiliate program live this afternoon, both of these are a better buy than we are for that job. Their billing sync is deeper than anything we do with subscription data, Rewardful has years of edge cases handled for Stripe, and Tolt runs payout rails and tax filing we deliberately stay out of. We are the better answer at a different moment: before the program has partners worth tracking. Our AI surfaces reseller, integration, affiliate and co-marketing companies with a fit score and the reasoning shown, drafts the outreach for a person on your team to approve, and runs B2B motions like deal registration that neither product attempts. Plenty of teams run Tolt or Rewardful for the link and the payout and use us to find the companies worth giving a link to.

Good questions

Tolt and Rewardful vs Partnerships, answered

Tolt is better if you pay US affiliates and want 1099s filed, if you bill through Chargebee, or if your affiliate revenue sits between $7,500 and $10,000 or between $15,000 and $20,000 a month. Rewardful is better under $7,500, between $20,000 and $30,000, and if you want annual billing, where it gives two months free and Tolt publishes no annual price.
Only in some bands. Rewardful is $20 cheaper under $7,500 a month in affiliate revenue. Tolt is $30 cheaper from $7,500 to $10,000, the same price from $10,000 to $15,000, and $50 cheaper from $15,000 to $20,000. From $20,000 to $30,000 Rewardful is $50 cheaper again. Add Tolt's 2% auto payout fee or Rewardful's optional 3% Managed Payouts fee if you use them.
Tolt publishes four plans. Basic is $69 a month for up to $10,000 in monthly affiliate revenue with manual payouts. Growth is $99 for up to $20,000 and adds auto payouts at a 2% processing fee, invoices, 1099 filing and Chargebee. Pro is $199 for up to $50,000 with unlimited programs and team members. Enterprise is quoted above $50,000. Every plan has a 14-day trial with no credit card.
Rewardful Starter is $49 a month for up to $7,500 in affiliate revenue with one campaign and two team members. Growth is $99 for up to $15,000 with unlimited campaigns and a custom domain. Enterprise starts at $149 for up to $30,000, with higher tiers quoted. Annual billing is $490, $990 and from $1,490. There is no transaction fee on any plan.
No. Rewardful says it integrates with Stripe and Paddle for billing and that it may not suit companies that bill through anything else, because its billing integration is how it tracks referrals and commissions. Workflow tools can pass data between Chargebee and Rewardful, but that is not a native integration. Tolt lists Chargebee from its Growth plan and documents the setup in its help center.
Tolt does, from the $99 Growth plan up, and it collects W-9 and W-8 forms. Rewardful's Managed Payouts onboarding collects the tax or identity details each affiliate's country requires, but Rewardful does not advertise filing 1099s for you. For tax year 2026 the 1099-NEC threshold is $2,000, so you owe a form for each US affiliate paid that much or more.
Neither takes a share of the revenue your affiliates drive. Rewardful states 0% transaction fees on every plan, and Tolt charges a flat monthly price per band. Both charge a fee only on payouts they move for you: Tolt 2% on auto payouts from Growth, Rewardful 3% on its optional Managed Payouts. You can avoid either fee by paying affiliates through PayPal or Wise yourself.
Neither does. Both assume you already know who should promote your product and give you tracking, a portal and payouts once those people sign up. Recruiting stays with you, and it is where most SaaS affiliate programs stall, because a tracking link earns nothing until a company or creator with the right audience agrees to use it.
