AffiliateWP alternative, AffiliateWP competitors and renewal pricing compared for SaaS and WooCommerce
AffiliateWP is the best known affiliate plugin for WordPress. It installs on your own site, tracks referrals through WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, MemberPress and about twenty other plugins, and charges no platform fee on the commissions you pay. It sells as a yearly license, and the headline prices on its pricing page are introductory: $149.50 for Personal, $199.50 for Plus and $299.50 for Pro in the first year, then $299, $399 and $599 at every renewal after that.
That renewal step is the most common reason people start comparing, usually in the month the second invoice lands. The second reason is structural. AffiliateWP only runs on self-hosted WordPress, so a software company whose marketing site is on WordPress but whose billing happens in Stripe inside its own app is tracking in one place and charging in another. The third is feature gating. Recurring referrals, lifetime commissions and automatic payouts are all Pro features, so a subscription business on Personal or Plus is often missing the one thing it needs.
We build Partnerships, so read our row with that in mind. It is not a WordPress plugin and for a WooCommerce store paying bloggers and coupon sites it is not the right swap. Where it fits is a B2B or SaaS program whose partners are companies, and whose real problem is finding the right ones and getting a reply.

Stay on AffiliateWP if your store runs on WooCommerce, you have budgeted for the full renewal, and you want no platform fees and unlimited affiliates on your own server. Choose SliceWP if you want to stay on WordPress and pay less at renewal. Choose FirstPromoter or Tapfiliate if your billing lives in Stripe or another system outside WordPress. Choose Partnerships if your partners are B2B companies and the problem is finding them.
The short answer
What is the best AffiliateWP alternative?
It depends on why you are leaving. If you are staying on WordPress and the renewal price is the problem, SliceWP Pro is $169 for the first year and $229 at renewal, against $149.50 and $299 for AffiliateWP Personal. If your product bills through Stripe inside a SaaS app rather than a WordPress checkout, a hosted tracker such as FirstPromoter ($49 a month) or Tapfiliate ($89 a month) reads the billing events directly and needs no WordPress site at all. If your partners are agencies, resellers and software companies rather than bloggers, a platform that finds and ranks those partner companies on a flat fee is the better buy.

Plugin prices are yearly and hosted prices monthly, so compare the year-two row, which is what you pay for as long as you run the program. Hosted tools include the hosting; with a plugin you also carry your own WordPress hosting, backups and updates. Enterprise tiers are quoted privately and are not compared.
Why teams pick Partnerships
AI prospecting and drafted outreach, with no marketplace tax
The AffiliateWP price you pay from year two
Every figure on the AffiliateWP pricing page carries an asterisk, and the footnote says it plainly: special introductory pricing, all renewals are at full price. Personal is shown at $149.50 and renews at $299. Plus is $199.50, then $399. Pro is $299.50, then $599. The Growth Bundle, which adds the RewardsWP loyalty plugin, is $349.50, then $699. So the honest three-year cost of AffiliateWP Pro is $299.50 plus $599 plus $599, or $1,497.50, which is about $42 a month. Personal over three years is $747.50, about $21 a month. Neither number is high for what the plugin does. The problem is only that most comparisons, including the review sites that rank for "AffiliateWP pricing", quote the year-one figure as if it were the price.
Why SaaS teams outgrow a WordPress plugin
AffiliateWP tracks a referral when a sale happens through a plugin it integrates with on the same WordPress install: WooCommerce, Easy Digital Downloads, MemberPress, Restrict Content Pro and similar. The vendor FAQ is explicit that it does not work on non-WordPress sites. That is fine for a store. It is awkward for a software company, where the marketing site is often WordPress but signup, trial and billing happen inside the app on Stripe or Paddle. The referral cookie is set on one system and the money moves on another, and every renewal and upgrade happens far from WordPress. Hosted tools built for SaaS, such as FirstPromoter and Rewardful, connect to the billing system itself and pay commission on each subscription payment, including renewals, without a WordPress site in the loop.
SliceWP and the hosted trackers, two different ways out
If you want to stay on WordPress, SliceWP is the closest like-for-like swap. Pro is $169 for the first year and $229 at renewal on one site, Pro Plus is $259 and $349 for ten sites, and both tiers include every add-on, so recurring commissions are not held back to a higher plan. There is also a one-time lifetime license at $429 or $649, which no hosted tool offers. If you want to leave WordPress, the choice is about what the bill meters. FirstPromoter charges by affiliate revenue: $49 a month up to $5,000 a month in affiliate-driven revenue, $99 up to $15,000, and $149 and up above that. Tapfiliate charges by traffic: $89 a month on Launch for 5,000 clicks, 500 conversions and 50 affiliates, then $1.50 per 1,000 extra clicks and $15 per 1,000 extra conversions. For a small SaaS program FirstPromoter is usually the cheaper and faster setup; for an ecommerce program with a short list of affiliates, Tapfiliate fits.
When no affiliate plugin is the answer
AffiliateWP, SliceWP, FirstPromoter and Tapfiliate all do the same job: record what your affiliates send and work out what you owe. That is the right job for a store paying bloggers, creators and coupon sites. It is the wrong one for a B2B or SaaS company whose best partners are agencies, consultants, resellers and integration partners. Those partners send a few large deals, not a stream of clicks, and the hard part is finding them and getting a reply, not calculating a 20% commission. That is what Partnerships does. It researches the companies that already sell into your market, ranks them by a fit score with the reasons shown, drafts outreach a person on your team approves, and tracks partner-sourced revenue, on a flat $47, $119 or $269 a month with no revenue share and no dependence on the platform your website runs on.
