FirstPromoter vs TUNE: pricing, conversion limits, and which affiliate software fits your program

These two land on the same shortlist more often than they should, usually because someone searched for affiliate software and got both. They are built for opposite ends of the market and priced accordingly. FirstPromoter, run by Igil Webs SRL since 2016, is a Stripe-native affiliate tool for subscription businesses that publishes all three of its prices. TUNE, from Tune, Inc. and formerly known as HasOffers, is an enterprise affiliate platform whose own site names brands, agencies, networks and advertisers as its audience, and it publishes exactly one figure.

The cleanest way to separate them is to look at what each vendor counts. FirstPromoter charges by the monthly revenue your affiliates generate, so a program earning nothing costs $49 and a program earning $20,000 a month has moved up two bands. TUNE charges by conversions processed, with its published Scale plan covering 2,500 a month. Those units behave differently. A SaaS program with 40 high-value conversions a month at $500 each would blow through FirstPromoter's entry revenue cap while barely touching TUNE's conversion allowance. A consumer program with 20,000 small conversions does the reverse. Model your own numbers against both meters before you compare a single feature, because the meter decides the bill.

Choose FirstPromoter if you bill subscriptions through Stripe, Chargebee or Paddle and want an affiliate program live this week at a published price. Choose TUNE if you run a network or a large brand program that needs postbacks, white labeling, fraud controls and a 650-endpoint API, and you have budget for a $1,500 a month floor. Choose Partnerships if the real problem is that nobody has decided which companies should be promoting you yet.

The short answer

What is the difference between FirstPromoter and TUNE?

FirstPromoter is affiliate tracking for subscription SaaS companies, priced from $49 a month and metered on how much monthly revenue your affiliates drive. TUNE is an enterprise affiliate platform built for brands, agencies and affiliate networks, priced from $1,500 a month paid annually and metered on conversion volume, starting at 2,500 conversions a month. That is roughly a 30x gap in entry price, and the two products are not competing for the same buyer. The practical test is which unit describes your program. If you run a Stripe-billed SaaS and want commissions to follow upgrades, refunds and churn automatically, FirstPromoter is built for that. If you run a partner network with custom postbacks, white-labeled dashboards and fraud controls across hundreds of media partners, that is what TUNE sells.

Figures are taken from each vendor's own pricing page in September 2026. TUNE states its Scale price as $1,500 per month paid annually and lists a 2,500 per month conversion allowance. FirstPromoter states monthly rates with a yearly toggle whose discounted figures it does not spell out. Confirm any number with the vendor before you budget against it.

Why teams pick Partnerships

AI prospecting and drafted outreach, with no marketplace tax

The 30x price gap is a category gap, not a discount you can negotiate

FirstPromoter Starter is $49 a month. TUNE Scale is $1,500 a month paid annually, which is $18,000 committed before you track a single conversion. That is roughly 30 times the entry cost, and it is tempting to read it as one product being overpriced. It is not. These are two different classes of software that happen to share the word affiliate. FirstPromoter reads your subscription billing and works out commissions when a customer upgrades, downgrades, refunds or churns. TUNE sits in front of media buying at network scale, catching postbacks from hundreds of partners, running fraud checks on the traffic, paying internationally and letting you white-label the whole thing. If you are a fifteen-person SaaS company, the TUNE feature list is not a stretch target you will grow into next year. It is machinery for a job you do not have. The reverse is also true: a network processing 200,000 conversions a month across 400 media partners cannot run on a tool that reads Stripe webhooks.

Conversions and revenue are different meters, and one of them will surprise you

This is the part buyers get wrong, because both meters sound like a proxy for program size and they are not. FirstPromoter bands you on the monthly revenue your affiliates drive: $5,000 on Starter, $15,000 on Business, above that on Enterprise. TUNE bands you on conversions, with 2,500 a month on the published Scale plan. Now run two real programs through both. A B2B SaaS selling $2,000 annual contracts through affiliates needs only 8 conversions a month to hit $16,000 in affiliate revenue, which puts it on FirstPromoter Enterprise while using 0.3% of TUNE's conversion allowance. A consumer app converting 10,000 free trials a month at $5 commission each is nowhere near FirstPromoter's revenue caps but is four times over TUNE's Scale allowance. High-ticket, low-volume programs get punished by a revenue meter. Low-ticket, high-volume programs get punished by a conversion meter. Take your last twelve months, count both numbers, and the answer usually stops being a debate.

What TUNE publishes, and what it does not

TUNE is unusual in this category for publishing anything at all. Its pricing page names a Scale tier at $1,500 per month paid annually with a 2,500 per month conversion allowance, then a Custom tier marked for a quote, with the extras positioned there: a complete two-way API, performance automation, fully automated event delivery, program migration and personalized product training. Both tiers describe fee-based partner payments and onboarding. What the page does not tell you is the shape of the curve above 2,500 conversions, which is the number that decides whether this is a $1,500 a month product or a $9,000 a month one for you. There is no published per-conversion overage rate and no second breakpoint. Ask for the price at three conversion volumes, your current one, double it and five times it, and get all three in writing. You will also find dollar estimates for TUNE and for FirstPromoter on review aggregators and comparison sites. Those are assembled from buyer-reported deals of unknown size and age, and we have deliberately not reprinted them, because a figure nobody can trace back to the vendor is worse than no figure at all.

Honest about where each one beats us

If you need an affiliate program running on Stripe by Friday, FirstPromoter is a better buy than we are for that job, and it is cheaper. Its billing sync is deeper than anything we do with subscription data, and its fraud detection is real. If you run an affiliate network, TUNE does things we have never attempted: postback infrastructure, international payouts, white-labeled partner-facing dashboards and an API with over 650 endpoints. We are not trying to win either of those comparisons. What we do sits earlier in the sequence. Both of these products assume you already know which companies should be promoting you, and hand you the infrastructure to track and pay them once they sign up. That assumption is where most programs actually stall, because a tracking link earns nothing until somebody with a real audience agrees to use it. Our agent surfaces reseller, affiliate, integration and co-marketing candidates ranked by a transparent fit score with the reasoning shown, drafts the outreach for a person to edit and approve, and never sends on its own. Plenty of teams end up running one of these alongside us.

Good questions

FirstPromoter and TUNE vs Partnerships, answered

TUNE publishes one figure. Its Scale plan is $1,500 per month paid annually and includes 2,500 conversions a month, fee-based partner payments and onboarding. The Custom tier above it is quote only, covers 2,500 or more conversions a month, and adds a complete two-way API, performance automation, fully automated event delivery, program migration and personalized product training. TUNE does not publish a per-conversion overage rate, so the cost above 2,500 conversions has to come from a sales conversation.
FirstPromoter publishes three plans, all metered on the monthly revenue your affiliates generate. Starter is $49 a month covering up to $5,000 a month in affiliate revenue. Business is $99 a month covering up to $15,000. Enterprise starts at $149 a month for programs above $15,000, with further bands above that. Every plan includes a 14-day free trial with no credit card required.
Only for a different job. TUNE is better if you run an affiliate network or a large brand program that needs postback tracking, proactive fraud prevention, international payouts, white-labeled dashboards and deep API access. FirstPromoter is better for a subscription SaaS company that wants commissions calculated from its billing system and a program live in days. Paying $1,500 a month for network infrastructure you will not use is not an upgrade.
They are the same lineage. HasOffers was the original product name and TUNE, from Tune, Inc., is what it is called now. HasOffers is still referenced across TUNE support material, including phrasing such as HasOffers by TUNE, so you will meet both names while researching. Treat documentation written for HasOffers as applying to the current platform, but confirm anything commercial, because pricing and packaging have changed since the rename.
FirstPromoter, by a very large margin, at every published point. Its top published tier starts at $149 a month, which is a tenth of TUNE's published entry price of $1,500 a month paid annually. The comparison only becomes genuinely close if your program processes far more conversions than a subscription business typically does, because FirstPromoter bands you on affiliate revenue rather than on volume.
Neither takes a cut of the revenue your affiliates drive. FirstPromoter instead gates the subscription tier by that revenue, so your cost rises in steps as the program succeeds rather than as a smooth percentage. TUNE prices on conversion volume, which is independent of order value. This is worth checking against network-model competitors, several of which do take a percentage of partner-driven transactions on top of a license fee.
FirstPromoter reads subscription data directly from Stripe, Chargebee and Paddle, which is what lets commissions follow upgrades, refunds and cancellations without manual work. TUNE is not billing-integrated in that sense. It is conversion and postback based, with an API TUNE says carries over 650 endpoints, so it connects to whatever you can instrument. If you bill through something neither supports, both are out and you are looking at a different category of tool.
No. Both are built around a tracked link, a conversion and a payout. Neither offers deal registration, partner tiering with co-sell attribution, or account mapping, which are the mechanics a B2B channel program runs on. If a reseller asks how to register an opportunity so your own reps do not collide with them, neither product has an answer, and that gap is the usual reason a SaaS company outgrows affiliate-only tooling.
Neither does. Both assume you already know who should promote your product and give you the infrastructure to track and pay them once they sign up. Recruiting stays your job. That is the step most programs stall on, because tracking software with no partners in it produces exactly nothing, month after month, while the subscription renews.
FirstPromoter, in almost every case, unless you are running media buying at network scale. A B2B SaaS affiliate program typically has low conversion volume and high contract value, which is the exact shape that makes TUNE's conversion allowance irrelevant and its price hard to justify. Watch FirstPromoter's revenue bands instead, because high-ticket programs cross them on very few deals.
